Smart Trail, Alert Sell, Standard Limit — which to use?

Smart Trail, Alert Sell, Standard Limit

On a Protected Pair (today: BEXC/USDT), every sell-limit order chooses one of three behaviors. The choice lives in the Trail Options panel that appears below the price field when you select Limit + Sell.

Default: Smart Trail.

Smart Trail

Your sell follows mid up. When the market price rises 2% above your order (default trigger), the system reprices your order to 0.5% above the new mid (default safety offset). The advanced settings let you tune both numbers. An optional max-price cap freezes the order when the cap is reached.

Use when: you want to ride upward momentum passively. You don't want to manually cancel-and-replace as price climbs.

Alert Sell

Same trigger as Smart Trail (2% mid movement), but instead of repositioning, the order is cancelled and you receive an email. You decide the new price; the system just clears stale orders and notifies you.

Use when: you want full control over every price decision but also don't want orders left behind as the market moves.

Standard Limit

A classic limit order. Your price doesn't change unless you change it. The order rests at your price until matched or cancelled.

Use when: you have a firm target and want no automation.

Advanced settings

For Smart Trail and Alert Sell:

  • Trigger % — how far below mid your price needs to drift before the order acts. Range: 0.5%–10%. Default: 2%.
  • Safety offset % — for Smart Trail only — how far above mid the reposition lands. Range: 0%–5%. Default: 0.5%.
  • Max price — optional cap. Order freezes when this price is reached.

Anti-flicker

Minimum 5 seconds + 0.5% mid movement between repositions. Your order will not bounce around on small noise.
